Jesse Gordon Spencer was born on the 12 February 1979 in Melbourne, Australia. He moved to London, UK before settling in Los Angeles. He has attended Canterbury Primary School, Malvern Central School and Scotch College, graduating in 1997.
Four of his immediate family members are in the medical industry: His father, Rodney, is a G.P. (general practitioner). He has two brothers, Tarney is an oculo-plastic surgeon and Luke is an orthopaedic surgeon. Polly, his sister is currently an intern in medicine.
He started dating House and Flourish co-star Jennifer Morrison in July 2004, the couple got engaged in Paris on 23 December 2006, however the wedding was called off in August 2007. He has also dated Cordelia Bugeja, another actress.
He has plays guitar, piano and violin which he has played since the age of ten. He is currently in Band From TV, a group of television actors that donates the revenue from their activities to charities.
Before appearing on screen he took on several theatre roles: Christopher Robin Winnie the Pooh. the older brother of Tiny Tim in Scrooge. Before those he was an understudy for the role of Louis in The King & I.
