Noticeably resembling to co-actor Tim Allen, Justin Long was born on June 2, 1978 in Fairfield Connecticut, USA. He is a middle child in a family of actors and teachers. His father R. James Long is the only one without an acting background, instead he teaches Philosophy and Latin at Fairfield University. His mother, Wendy Lesniak, is a Broadway stage actress who teaches at Roger Ludlowe Middle School, in Fairfield, Connecticut. Justin has two brothers. Damian, the oldest, is a local stage actor and at the same time, a teacher of Film and English and Director of Theatres at Weston High School, in Weston, CT. His youngest brother, Christian, performs as the Sandwich Mascot at the movie Accepted.
Being raised as a Roman Catholic, the heavy-eye browed actor studied at a Jesuit school at Fairfield (Fairfield College Preparatory School). After graduating, he went to Puoghkeepsie, New York to study college at Vassar College. During his stay in the college, he joined a comedy group called "LaughingStock", and was able to won roles in two independent films: Boygazm and Time Writer. His first commercial was Galaxy Quest. He finished his college first before pursuing full-time acting. Upon graduation, he worked as a children's theatre group's acting instructor/counsellor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Way back, what Justin wanted was to become a professional football player. However, with a small-built body and insufficient height, he immediately realized that football wasn't for him. As a young lad, his first motive in acting is to meet girls.
